This specialist nest box is made from pinewood. It has been designed with Treecreepers in mind but may also be used by other songbirds. Fill one third of the nest box with nesting material, such as peat or dry soil, and place it on a thicker tree in locations such as forest edges, parks, or gardens for the best nesting and breeding results.

These nest boxes are specially designed to help park, woodland, and garden birds, including common birds such as Great Tits, Blue Tits, and Robins; declining red-listed species such as Starlings and House Sparrows; and for use as specialist boxes for species such as Woodpeckers and Treecreepers.
Many of the nest boxes in this range use a material called WoodStone®, which is a combination of concrete and FSC certified wood. Using WoodStone® means the nest boxes are attractive and durable while providing greater insulation than traditional wooden nest boxes.
This aids the stabilisation of the temperature inside the box, protecting it from external daily fluctuations; a clear advantage for nestlings, incubating birds, and birds that use nest boxes as winter roosting sites.
WoodStone® nest boxes are also breathable, preventing condensation issues while still protecting any occupants from rain and wind. Birds may be able to start nesting earlier in boxes made of this material, with more young fledging successfully. Their sturdy construction is also a deterrent to nest box predators such as woodpeckers and grey squirrels.
